Residential Rehabilitation in Cadaval | Renovation and Property Value Enhancement Project

 Initial Condition — Before the Renovation

This project, located in Cadaval, Portugal, is a clear example of how a well-planned renovation can transform a property in ruins into a functional, attractive, and highly valued space.

The house was acquired in a critical condition: without a roof, with poorly divided spaces, and no functional logic. The potential was there, but it could only be revealed through a careful study of layout, circulation, and intelligent use of the available area — precisely where my work comes in.

The Project Challenge

More than aesthetics, this project required:

• A clear and accurate reading of the existing space

• Compliance with Portuguese building regulations

• Careful planning to make the property functional and appealing to the market

Every decision was made not only with visual impact in mind, but mainly focusing on how the house would function and how its value would increase after the renovation.

Renovation Proposal — Design & Layout

The renovation completely reorganized the house, creating a coherent, fluid, and contemporary layout.

Ground Floor

• Integrated social area combining kitchen, dining room, and living room

• Outdoor patio with barbecue, extending the social area

• 1 bedroom

• 1 social bathroom

Upper Floor (Attic)

By making use of the existing volume, a second level with access to the attic was created, allowing for:

• 1 bedroom

• 1 bathroom

• A flexible space that can function as a second living area, home office, or even a third bedroom

This flexibility broadens the property’s target audience and significantly increases its resale potential.

To facilitate project understanding and highlight the renovation’s potential, realistic renders were inserted into the real environment.

This step is essential for investors and future buyers to clearly visualize the final result, even before construction begins.
